BLC Mission Trips: Mexico
Construction is complete!!!! Three houses in three days is almost unbelievable. What an incredible group we have here this week. Everyone has worked so hard to give these families a home. Today was a great day. We wrapped up the building by completing the roof and adding trim all the way around the outside of each house. Each group was able to be creative in creating a ladder for the loft in each building. They all turned out great!
We will return to each home tomorrow morning for a dedication and to present each family with keys. It will be very emotional for everyone involved.
Following the dedications we will head back across the border into San Diego for a well-deserved evening of rest and relaxation.
The group worked very hard this week to accomplish everything. Everyone meshed together well and many great new friendships were made.
Please keep us in your prayers for a quick border crossing and for safe travels home. We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday!!!

Build day two is complete. We made so much progress today. All three houses are really coming together. Each now has all four sides and a roof. Tomorrow's main task will be finishing up the roof and putting on all the trim.
In the midst of construction we took some time to host vacation Bible school for the neighborhood children. They had a lot of fun learning about Jesus and playing games with our group. We wrapped up VBS by handing out activity bags, hygene items, a tshirt, rice and beans to each child. They were very grateful.
Tonight we were seved an amazing authentic Mexican dinner by the woman and her son who run the mission where we are staying. They spent the entire afternoon preparing food for us as a way to show their appreciation. It was fantastic!
Check out some photos from today's construction.

Hola! Today was our first build date at the home sites. We were blessed with beautiful weather and all three groups got a lot done. The homes we are building are only 12 x 12, certainly not very big at all but the families are so grateful. Check out the photos below to see our progress today. Some of the youth in our group spent a good part of the day building relationships with the children in the area.

Feliz dia de padre! Happy Father's Day to all our dads.
What an incredible day we had. We worshipped this morning at El Divino with friends from previous years. Pastor Roger delivered the sermon while the mission team led Sunday school with the kids. Kudos to Mama G and her servants for their hard work. The little ones had a great time while learning to forgive 70 times 7 times.
After worship and Sunday school we were enjoyed an authentic Mexican lunch prepared by members of the church. We celebrated the dads in the group and enjoyed fellowship with the three families we will be building for this week.
We enjoyed a leisurely afternoon at the beach and did a little more shopping. We're turning in early tonight because tomorrow we begin building.
We appreciate your continued prayers. Please pray for a safe work day and many God sightings.

Praise God for our safe travel to Mexico. Yesterday was a long day for everyone with our early start and the distance we traveled. We arrived at the mission around 6 p.m. local time after meeting up with the Nebraska group and completing some power grocery shopping. It's wonderful how this group of God's servants mesh together so well. It's as if we've always been a cohesive group.
Dinner at the taco stand was absolutely incredible. We we definitely submersed in the local culture and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal and fantastic fellowship!
We had a great devotion last night talking about what brings us here. Many different reasons, but it all truly comes down to the willingness to serve. Everyone is so excited to help others and to change lives as we grow in Christ. We will share many stories in our blog this week as well as when we return.
Today we will spend the morning preparing materials for the worksites. We are cutting wood and painting so we are ready to begin construction first thing on Monday morning. This afternoon we will spend some time shopping in downtown and then return to the Mision for dinner and devotions.
Please continue to pray for us. Pray that we impact others as we share the love of Christ.

Matthew 28:19&20
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19&20
